Anchorage Digital has expanded its institutional crypto custody offering by integrating Uniswap into its Porto wallet, allowing clients to directly access decentralized finance (DeFi) swaps and liquidity. The new capability enables Anchorage’s clients — including Maple Finance, the Sui Foundation, and dYdX — to engage with DeFi protocols natively through the Porto wallet. CEO Nathan McCauley described the integration as a way for institutions to move at “crypto-native speed” without sacrificing security. The move positions Anchorage among a growing list of firms — including Blockdaemon, Fireblocks, and Consensys — that are racing to offer DeFi access in a way that meets institutional compliance and governance standards.Uniswap, the integrated protocol, currently has $4.57 billion in total value locked (TVL), according to DeFiLlama. The broader DeFi sector stands at around $106 billion in TVL, down from a peak of $137 billion six months ago.Anchorage, which reached a $3 billion valuation in 2021 with backing from Andreessen Horowitz and Apollo Funds, also partners with BlackRock to provide custody services. As regulatory clarity improves globally, the move highlights growing institutional appetite for DeFi's faster, more transparent settlement infrastructure.
