I’ve been using Coinbase Wallet and Uniswap on the Base network for buying and selling coins, and this is the first time I've encountered something like this.Today, I tried to sell around 3,000 BRETT for Ethereum (Base). The estimated value was around $260 in ETH, which looked good. I proceeded with the swap quickly because I've never had issues before, and fees on Base are usually low. However, after the transaction went through, I noticed something odd. About 2,400 BRETT was sent to another wallet (which appears to be the DEX fee), and my wallet shows that I only traded 600 BRETT for around $50.Here are the exact transaction details:* Third-party DEX fee: 2,400 BRETT* Network fee: $0.002* Total estimated: $52.29I went ahead and did two more transactions after this, and everything went back to normal. For example, I swapped 1,000 BRETT for ETH, and it went through 1:1 with a tiny gas fee, just like I'm used to.This leads me to believe that this might have been a one-time fee for selling BRETT, or something unusual happened during the transaction. It's been about six months since I last bought or sold BRETT, so I’m wondering if there are any renewal fees or maybe I just sold at a bad time, possibly involving another DEX.I'm fine with the fees, but this seems like an odd, one-time occurrence, and I’d like to know if anyone else has experienced something similar. Any insights on what happened or how to avoid it in the future?
